Hunger for Food @ KK - Ocean Seafood Village + 1Borneo Tutti Frutti + 1Borneo Homes

This is a Cari Makan post in KK, Sabah. A little guide for those who will come to Sabah to cari makan.

1. Ocean Seafood Village

Sabah is a seafood heaven, u can find lots of seafood restaurants in every corner of KK.

We pay our first seafood hunting visit to Ocean Seafood Village, beside Promenande Hotel, KK.

This place divide into air conditioner and non air conditioner, you will greet by waiter/waitress who equip with walkie talkie.

You can walk around and survey what seafood you wanna order.

Check out the freshness. Now alive, later gone.

Anyhow, it's only 3 of us so we ordered 3 dishes.

Photobucket
Dish 1: Sabah Oily Vege? Rate: 5/5.

Photobucket
Dish 2: Steamed Prawn. Rate 3/5 (normal prawn but it's fresh, should try other style instead of steam only.)

Photobucket
3. Salted egg with vietname crab. Rate 3.5/5 (The crabs seems like not as fresh as what we thought but the salted egg sauce do taste great)

I would recommend Salted egg style fried prawn and black pepper crab, will try if visit again.

Ocean food village's wet tissue. Beware, this costs us RM1.

The total wallet damage is RM125+ inclusive of 16% tax.

Tips for you guys, reject those TIT-BITS if they put on your table, it definitely will costs you more, even the wet tissue costs us RM1 each.

The meal served very fast so don't worry you're going to wait for long. Speed is 5/5.

They changed our plates for 3 or 4 times during our dinner. The waiter/waitress are very polite. Their service is a 5/5.

Price is reasonable for me, since they provide great service and the food is good.

Coconut pudding is available here for RM10 each.

Overall experience 4/5.

After that, we took a walk at their seafront.

The waterfront kinda short so nothing interest.

2. 1Borneo Tutti Frutti + Homes

1borneo is a hypermall near KK, it links to condominium and hotels like Tune Hotel, Courtyard Hotel, Novetel Hotel.

The other day I saw this Tutti Frutti Yogurt Ice cream shop and think that JenJen will definitely love this.

Photobucket

I brought her there to try. There are 8 flavours of yogurt ice cream for you to DIY. You mix what you want.

JenJen pumped Vanilla and Lychee flavour ice cream into her little cup and asked whether I need more or not.

I say NO NO NO.

By the time the ice cream that she pulled, drop into her cup, I saw the cup have some earthquake effect. Kinad scary. Thus, I put back my RM10 into wallet and took out another RM50 and passed to her.

Photobucket

After some toppings, she put on the scale and it costs RM11.20 for that.

RM15.80 per 100 gram.

Photobucket

But this ice cream absolutely is girl's favourite. Too expensive for me but it's ok since it's once in a while.

Photobucket

Next, dine in Homes. From its outlook, I thought it is an American Style restaurant, but it is a normal restaurant which sell some western food and local delight.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Order two ordinary meal.

Photobucket

Mamik Chicken Rice. Below average.

Photobucket

Black Pepper Chicken Chop. Salty and below average.

They charged 10% service charge but I didn't feel any good service provided.

Not a great place to go.
