At the same time, my nephew has their trilogy books.
I started to read the books after the second movie released and managed to finish all the books before the third movie is out.

Now, there's no surprises for me in The Hunger Games final movie :(
No wow factor, no surprises, no shit and a lot of complains of how they not follow the plots in books.
Damn.
As a conclusion, movies first, then books.
The books are good though, once you read them, you will realize there are some details in the books that they didn't manage to show. Like Peter was amputated in the first participated games, how horrible is President Snow's presence in Katniss life, Avox, Mutt, and Katniss actually started to fall in love with Peter in the first book.
